Table of Contents Clock DayClock Day is on August 15. This was the date in 2001 that the movie “B” by StrawberryClock was submitted to the Newgrounds portal, and is regarded by some as the beginning of the Clock Crew, although the Clock Crew would not resemble its current form until late November 2001. Clock Day became a holiday each year for all clocks to submit clock movies to the newgrounds portal, and has become a date for large projects or flash movies to be deployed. It is usually the busiest day for Clock Crew websites and chats, and most clocks prepare for the day months in advance. It is heavily considered to be the most important day for the clocks, and usually Newgrounds as well. During clockday 2006, XBOX 360 game consoles were awarded to the best movies, which prompted many regular Newgrounds artists to make their own clock films.
Clock Day's Effect On NewgroundsIn recent years, Clock Day has become increasingly successful and is now one of the biggest events in the Newgrounds calender. Submission numbers on Clockday dwarf normal Newgrounds rates and the portal is almost always filled with “under judgment” entries due to the sheer number of people submitting. It is not just Clocks who join in with the event, in fact, almost everyone on Newgrounds with an account submits on Clock Day because of it’s reputation as a time where any movie, regardless of quality, gets passed. Because of the success of Clock Day, many spinoff groups host their own “[group suffix] Day”’s hoping to match the Clock Crew’s level of anarchy. Very few of these groups manage to create any great impact with their “-day”’s bar the Clock Crew’s most famous and long-lasting off-shoots: The Lock Legion (With their “Lock Day”) and The Star Syndicate (with their “Daily Day”, named after their (in)famous ‘Dailytoon’ series).
Clockday 2002This was the first Clockday, considering B was submitted on August 15th, 2001. Compared to modern clockdays, there was only moderate activity on the day, however many movies were created on that day from such clocks as Munglai and Doritosclock.

Clockday 2005An amazing comeback for the Clock Crew after a year frought with turmoil. Clock Day 2005 featured over 500 Clock related Flash movies. Exactly 1,069 entries were sent in total this day, which is quite a jolt considering the Portal averages less than 200 per day. Although not the first Clock Day to be recognized by Newgrounds staff, it is the first Clock Day to receive it’s own collection page. This is in part due to vast improvements in the Newgrounds collection system. P-Bot's Clock Day 2005 Posting
