Namespaces

Namespaces provide a way for the Clockopedia to have ‘subfolders’ or a heirarchy of documents. Normal pages on the Clockopedia can only be edited by those members that have editor privledges, those people are shown with the ‘clockopedia editor’ award on the BBS, with the exception of the playground - Clocks and Clockfriends can edit that too.

The Public namespace however, named ‘public’, allows all clocks and clockfriends (on the BBS) to edit and create pages, but only in the ‘public’ namespace.

Creating a page

To create a page in the public Clockopedia, make sure you are logged in on the BBS, and go to the url

http://www.clockcrew.cc/clockopedia/public/<page name>

where <page name> is the name of the page you wish to create.

You can also use the Clockpedia Page Generator to make you page! Click Here

If all goes well, you should see a page that allows you to create the page. Brush up on the wiki language here syntax and experiment before you create a page here: playground

If you no longer want the page to be edited, please contact an Editor so they can lock the page.

Editing a page

To edit a page, simply navigate to that page and click on the ‘edit page’ button. This button only appears on pages in the Public Namespace, and the wiki playground (playground)

Linking a page

Once you are editing a page, and wish to include a link to another public page you can use a format like this:

[[<page name>]]

where <page name> is the name of the page you wish to link to. This will create a link to public:<pagename>

If you DO NOT want this, and suppose you want to link to the main page, clockopedia, you would create a link like this:

[[:clockopedia]]

which turns into this:

clockopedia

If you want to link to another namespace, like suppose the page flash:about_flash, you would do this:

[[flash:about_flash]]

which makes this:

about_flash

Reverting

If someone has made a modification to your page or deleted anything, you can get your page back - the Clockopedia remembers all of the versions of the pages that are edited. Go to the page, and click on the ‘old revisions’ and find the revision that you want to go back to, and click on the ‘save page’ button.

Now what?

Whatever you feel like (within reason).. being an ass here will get you banned from the whole site fyi, so be a nice clock or clockfriend :)

So you have created your masterpiece and you want it linked on one of the pages in the main namespace, or transferred there? Chances are if your page rocks, you can just ask one of us and we’ll make you an editor. Contact an admin on the BBS, and ask for a clockopedia award and show them the page(s) youve created. If you just want to be linked, add your page here: petition_for_linkage
