HistoryINTRODUCTORY I signed up on Newgrounds.com originally on 11/24/06 as Marioman360 an Alias i used on my old sprite animation site http://www.Supermariobrosdc.piczo.com but never submitted anything. my internet “life” or some semblance there of actually started the next year, 8/4/07 to be precise, when i signed up on Newgrounds once again (with the clock name “ice-cube” in mind) i signed up as ‘theicecubeclock’. I made this second account because I had received Flash Professional 8 from my father and since the CC’s flashes were never blammed it seemed like a good place to begin. Starting of, my flashes are what you would call “far below mediocre” and where blammed up until clock day 2007 when i submitted a crudely done animation of strawberry dancing to numa numa, since it was clock day the reception was fairly good, my personal favorite review being “’NUMA NUMA HEY’ by: GayForGirls date: August 15, 2007” “If you can find me anything better, I’ll cut my dick off.. Ow wait, clock day aint over :/ I retrait!” heh heh, good times… Anyway! Clock day 07. Since i wanted my flash to be as professional as possible i signed up on clockcrew.cc (which i had just learned existed)for the preloader. after a week or so i decided to post there. Now, before we continue: I blame my loudmouthed, attention-grabbing bullshit on the internet as a compensation for how quite and lonely i was in school (at the time), getting bullied and ignored all the time, i never once expressed how i felt in public leaving me with alot of built up emotions and instability. What I’m trying to get at here is that when i signed up for the Clock Crew i was looking for some respect of some sort, to be liked by the vast majority and to make a good name for myself in the community.I figured if i did something really big, it could get me renown and loved ASAP. That said, read on… what the fuck was i thinking? After i had been in the clock crew about a month, lurking, not really posting or anything and at this point people were still blabbing about inactivity in the clock crew and how nobody was joining spreading to a wider audience, blah blah blah. that’s all fine and good but i wasn’t to interested since i had projects of my own going on, one particularity that got me in more trouble than any noob ever before, ‘Toasted Flash’. ‘Toasted Flash’ was an aspiring flash portal that i was part of. at this point, i was in constant communication with the owner of the site, testing the portal for him, and one day he tells me to try and submit a flash with a small file size to the portal. After i tried (and failed) submitting one of my terrible old flashes, i thought “smaller file size… smaller movie… B!” and, if you hadn’t already guessed, i, regretfully, submitted ‘B’ and it worked perfectly… Now I and the portal creator were excited that the portal was working and within a week he has most bugs ironed out. yep, i did it. i told everyone, you can see how well that worked out.
From then on in, it was straight down hill. I had made a name for myself: “DUMBASS”. It’s Funny because I’ve gotten more attention for my stupidity than i possibly could have for good flashes. I made a few Enemy’s that were more predominant than others:
ThiefIt’s painfully obvious to me and to everyone else that these accusations are well founded in the truth. There is, as i see it, 2 reasons as to why people would call me a theif.the first one is described above (see “what the fuck was i thinking?”) and the second, described here. When first heard of Duck Day and Duck.fla, a little long dead bandwagon started by DWARFINATOR, and i loved it. Being the stupid little prick i was, after seeing that it was no longer on Newgrounds, i submitted it myself… I’ll let that just sink in… so yeah, i did submit somebody elses flash work and i can’t for the life of me remember WTF i was thinking. In any case, i am not a Theif, i do not steal other peoples work for my own personal gain and i have apologized 100 times over for all the stupid messes i caused.
Name ChangesI started off as “Ice-Cube”. I was confronted as, apparently , back in 2001 there was an IcecubeClock. I switched my name to “Iceblock”, a name i had cleared with LeekClock through private messaging. But still people told me i was stealing a taken name. after about a year slurpee contacted me and politely but firmly encouraged me to change my name. I, being a dumbass, could not decide on a new name and ended up switching frantically between: Robotic-Operating-Buddy Clock, Duke Nukem Clock, Homer SimpClock and, for a brief spell, Payne Clock. Realizing this was going nowhere fast, i decided to use the simplest thing i could think of… Myself (Rob Clock). The Rob Clock Character is a cartoon version of my face with a clock on it. The most ironic thing (in my opinion) about all this is that most still refer to me as Iceblock and, more often than not, it would be the people who were after me to change my name.
