Table of Contents TopcatyoTopcatyo is a member of the Clock Crew that has done a number of animations and various other things. As of the time of this writing, he has been in the Clock Crew for a total of five years and has twenty Clock Crew related Flashes available for viewing on Newgrounds. He offers to do voice acting for Flashes. Currently, he has been too busy for the Clockcrew doing things like going to college, or other things like doing his webcomic. Psh. Webcomics? What a chode. Statistics
History1: The BeginningTopcatyo joined the Clockcrew in December of 2003, eager to be influential and Internet popular and considered. Despite the site’s age limit being 13 years old, he signed up as “Topcatyo” to Clockcrew.co.uk (run by Koala Clock) at age 12. He mistyped his e-mail, so he had to sign up a second time, altering the alias slightly to “Topkatyo”. There he spent his first couple of days filling the forums with completely worthless posts. It’s suspected that the only reason people tolerated him his first couple of days is because he started making Flash from the get-go. He was somewhat experienced with the program and had been using Flash for at least a half a year before joining the Clock Crew. 2: The Clockcrew Slumber PartayBefore long, Topcatyo embarked on his first major Clock Crew animation. Not even a week after joining Clockcrew.co.uk, the site experienced some difficulties and was down for a day. When the site came back the following day, a topic on the forum was made about the site’s downtime and the members’ love for the site. Someone in the topic joked about the clocks in the thread having a slumber party, and then someone else thought that was a good idea for a Flash cartoon. Topcatyo, seeing this as his chance to gain recognition from his peers, opted to make the animation. Topcatyo immediately went to work on the Flash and made a thread that updated daily with his progress on the animation. Many clocks responded positively to the thread and offered suggestions for jokes and asked for cameos in the movie, with quite a few of these being added into the movie. The Flash took quite some time to finish, and when Clockcrew.co.uk went down for a long time (to be revived several months later as version 2), progress came to a halt. No work was put into the flash for a couple of months before Topcatyo finish the animation. The project hit a snare when the file became too big for the file size limit of five megabytes Newgrounds.com had in effect at the time. As a result, the movie had to be broken up into two parts. Topcatyo did not release part one of the animation until part two was finished to ensure he finished the entire movie. Part one was finally released July 17th, 2004, with Part two being released a month later on Clock Day. 3. AbsenceFor one reason or another (mostly lethargy), Topcatyo stopped making Clock Flash cartoons and, eventually, stopped posting on any Clock Crew BBS for over a year. During his absence, Topcatyo released an animation, a music video to the song Hate To Say I Told You So by The Hives, but was otherwise nowhere to be found on the Internet, presumably having a life. 4. Return 06At the beginning of June, 2006, Topcatyo made his ever so exciting return to the Clockcrew, which was met with minimal fanfare. Immediately after returning, Topcatyo started work on his next big Clock Crew animation for Clock Day, which was fast approaching. Now being smarter, more mature and assuredly less Internet-stupid, Topcatyo became an active and (at least somewhat) respected member of the forum again, all the while still working on his new animation. Clock Day rolled around, and Topcatyo unveiled latest endeavor. Simply titled 06, it received a fairly high score on Newgrounds and was featured on the front page of the site for the day. The movie’s plot, semi-biographical, follows Topcatyo as he returns to the Clockcrew and then rushes to make a Flash for Clock Day. 5. Peggey RemakeAfter 06 was released, it would appear Topcatyo was content to rest on his laurels and do nothing In fact, the opposite was true. Being active member of the forums, he wanted a cool signature. He decided a remake of the classic Tangerine Clock movie the peggey movie would be pretty awesome, so he began working on that. Topcatyo originally expected the movie to take just a month with minimal effort to make, but soon found that his tendency to overdo things in his movies caused the project to take much longer than he expected. Part of this was because, not wanting to commit some act of blasphemy, Topcatyo made painstaking efforts to remake the original scene by scene. The project was kept secret from everybody the entire time Topcatyo worked on it. Topcatyo finally finished the movie two days before 2007’s Clock Day rolled around, so he decided that, for all the work he had put into the movie, he’d submit it to Newgrounds as his Clock Day animation. Topcatyo was apprehensive about doing so, as he feared remaking such a classic Clock Crew animation would be viewed incredibly negatively, while if it were a signature it’d just be some cool minor thing. His fears were proved unfounded as Peggey Movie was met with a positive response on Clock Day, even being reviewed on Newgrounds by Tangerince Clock himself. Peggey Movie was featured on the front page of Newgrounds during Clock Day. 6. Public Service Announcement DaySoon after Clock Day was Anti-Clock Day/Pirate Clock Day, which Topcatyo participated in with Wacky Anti-Clock Day. As Anti-Clock Day approached, a thread was made on the Clockcrew forum discussing how to handle Anti-Clock Day. Various users suggested themes for which to base Flash movies to spam the portal on. Among them, Topcatyo suggested all the users submit movies telling viewers to eat their spinach. While this idea was not used for Anti-Clock Day, Albino Clock liked the idea and decided a day should be made to do this. Leek Clock suggested that making movies specifically about eating spinach was too specific and that the day should be about public service announcements in general. This was almost unanimously agreed upon, and Public Service Announcement Day was created. The date for Public Service Announcement Day was soon set September 11th. Varioius users submitted movies for the day. Topcatyo’s submission, Eat Your Spinach, was among them. The day didn’t feature an enormous amount of Flashes, but it still had a good amount of submissions. The following Public Service Announcement Day, Topcatyo did not submit anything (worthwhile) because of a combination of difficulties getting lines from his voice actor and the ambitious nature of the movie without having adequate time to finish it. 7. 2007-2008 in GeneralDuring the year 2007, Topcatyo was generally active in making Flash. After Tree Clock left late in the year, quite a few other prolific members in the Clock Crew left as well, creating a week of Internet Drama on the forum. In response to this, Topcatyo made the Flash Clockcrew Club!. For the Halloween Flash competition of 2007, Topcatyo made Knight's Stalker, which won in the categories of Best Sound and Scariest Piece. Everybody Loves Leekles Day was made as a way of saying thanks to Leek for keeping the Clockcrew running. Topcatyo participated with Leek Clock Loves Walks. Topcatyo’s last Flash of 2007 was Celebrating Bill Murray, made for Bill Murray Week. For 2008, Topcatyo started by making a hasty animation for Valentine’s Day titled Rosco the Heart. Radiotube made a Flash called Epic Night Out, to which Topcatyo responded with Epicer Night Out, creating the first ever Epic-Off, a battle of epicness to make a Flash more epic than the last person’s epic Flash. Radiotube responded with The Most Epic Snowman, to which Topcatyo responded with Epic Snowman Continued to which Radiotube responded with Epic Zombie Flash to which Topcatyo has to respond with anything yet. He will though. Oh, he will. When the Haltman notification system on the forum was removed, a wave of Flashes mourning Haltman were made, including Topcatyo’s RIP HALTMAN. Clock Crew Time Trials were introduced, and Topcatyo participated in the trial titled “GURLZ” with thlema&luise. He barely participated in the Clock Crew’s Hentai Day with Blue Clock's Blue Balls. He participated in another Time Trial, titled “Two Sides” with the animation Red Light Green Light. Topcatyo’s two final animations of the year were the masterpiece OH NO!!! and the short Splatter Doesn't Enjoy Vacations. 8. 2009In 2009 Topcatyo got both busy and bored. He was accepted university and started his experimental webcomic Dragons With Pom Poms and graduated from High School. He has yet to make any animations this year. Lazy ass. That was incredibly longYes it was.
Telephone Booth ClockTelephone Booth Clock is an alter ego of Topcatyo’s. He came about when Topcatyo changed his username to Telephone Booth Clock simply to make the thread titled “Dear Flux Capacitor”, with the post itself simply saying “Fuck you” (a joke about machines used for time travel in movies). No one got the joke and, as the Secondary Username feature was not implemented yet, people thought it was actually someone different. Nothing came of that, though, and because Telephone Booth Clock is actually not that bad of a clock name, he decided to use it as an alter ego. Telephone Booth Clock has made one Flash so far, an introductory animation that was released on Clock Day. Telephone Booth Clock is still fairly new to Flash, but is a fast learner. Topcatyo or Topkatyo?Occasionally the question has arisen as to whether Topcatyo should be referred to as such or as “Topkatyo”. Originally, Topcatyo decided that “Topcatyo” would refer to himself in general, while his Clock avatar used in Flashes would be “Topkatyo”. He has since decided that, for the sake of making things easy, he is just Topcatyo. SexRumors have circulated that Topcatyo is, in fact, a love machine. Topcatyo has not officially responded, but those close to him have noted that the rumors are not entirely exaggerated. Related Links |
